ERISA is a comprehensive but exceedingly complex statutory enactment, and as such, is rife with the potential for disputes between plan participants/beneficiaries and plan sponsors/fiduciaries.

Pridgen Bassett Law distinguishes itself by understanding both sides of ERISA. We have counseled both employers and employees about ERISA, as well as litigated on their behalf. We are very careful to avoid conflicts of interest, of course, that might arise by simultaneously representing an employer and one of its employees. We are also careful to avoid the potentiality for conflicts of interest, by maintaining other internal and external checks on our representations that we undertake. However, our comprehensive approach to ERISA litigation ultimately benefits our clients because it both enhances our ability to see a case from all sides and requires us to stay up to date on all of the latest legal developments in ERISA disputes.

We understand that litigants will likely have many questions both before and during ERISA disputes. One of the most important services we provide to our clients is education. Employers approach us about their obligations under ERISA, such as how they must respond to employee benefit claims and appeals during the administrative process. Employees, in turn, may have questions about their rights under ERISA. We are here to answer your questions.

Pridgen Bassett Law, LLC focuses its law practice on employment litigation in the federal courts. Pridgen Bassett Law has handled, in some capacity, nearly every type of employment law matter that exists, including ERISA/employee benefits, FLSA/wage and hour, employment contracts, employment discrimination, retaliation, harassment, unemployment, FMLA, etc.

We sub-specialize in ERISA litigation, and have litigated scores of ERISA benefits claims and fiduciary cases throughout the country. Pridgen Bassett Law’s partners developed this expertise in ERISA Litigation while at Alston + Bird, one of the premier law firms in the country with ERISA Litigation specialists, where they litigated numerous class actions and other complex litigation involving employee pension and welfare benefit claims. They have continued their focus on ERISA since then, including at some of Atlanta’s most well-respected firms. We write and speak often on ERISA/employment litigation topics; the titles of the publications and speaking engagements appear in the publications section below.

Pridgen Bassett Law’s attorneys also enjoy assisting executives and key employees navigate the waters of transitioning out of old and into new employment relationships, with all of their attendant issues (including, for instance, negotiating severance or other benefits, and drafting/negotiating new employment terms, etc.).

In addition to their active employment law practice, Pridgen Bassett Law’s attorneys maintain their commitment to giving back to the community by handling many low-cost or pro bono adoptions, both for private individuals and through Atlanta Legal Aid’s Grandparent/ Relative Adoption Project.

“I would highly recommend Nancy and her firm to anyone for assistance with employment issues, especially benefits. She knows what she’s doing!”
