Joe Hurst is a partner in the Little Rock office of Friday, Eldredge & Clark, LLP and head of the firm’s Employee Benefits Practice Group. He joined the firm in 1980 and has practiced in the area of employee benefits law for over forty years.

His focus is on the design, implementation and administration of tax-qualified retirement plans (including defined benefit pension plans, profit-sharing plans, 401(k) plans and ESOPs), nonqualified deferred compensation plans, and welfare benefit plans for healthcare, financial, utility, technology, retail sales, governmental and non-profit organizations. He assists plan sponsors and fiduciaries with regulatory compliance with ERISA and state and federal tax issues affecting pension and welfare plans. In addition, he acts as counsel to plan sponsors and fiduciaries with respect to ERISA controversies.
